People Show Up.
People Stay.

"What stood out wasn't just how good they sounded. It was how connected they were to the crowd. They somehow turned a room full of strangers into a room full of people having the same memory at the same time."

Where the Room
Came Alive

"My husband and I only planned to stay for one set. Three hours later, we were still there. The music was great, but the energy and connection they create is what keeps people around."

"

"You can tell within the first few songs whether a band has the room. Ira & the Half Moon had people engaged from the start and somehow kept building energy all night. We haven't stopped talking about that show."

Meet the Band

Ira & the Half Moon came together in the winter of 2025 when Brandon Ard and Tim Putnam spun up a new project with a simple idea: build a live show around songs that actually mean something. Not the same cover-band checklist, but songs people forgot they loved — the kind tied to old car rides, heartbreaks, second chances, and voices they forgot they still knew by heart.

The project also created the right opportunity to bring Maddy into the band, because Brandon believed she had a voice, presence, and level of confidence that would resonate with audiences.

The band blends soulful rock, alt-country edge, acoustic grunge, and folk-blues into a set that feels familiar without feeling predictable. Based in the Pacific Northwest, Ira & the Half Moon brings a polished, high-energy show to bars, breweries, private events, corporate gatherings, and festivals — with strong vocals, full-band dynamics, crowd interaction, and a song list built to keep people engaged instead of checking their phones like bored raccoons.

It is a more ambitious approach to live music, and that has made it more rewarding for the band and the people in the room. Ira & the Half Moon is built for nights people remember.

Brandon Ard
Brandon Ard
Vocals

The voice and face of the operation. Brandon brings the energy, holds the stage, and somehow keeps the train moving full steam — which is more impressive than it sounds at 11pm on a Saturday.

Maddy Ard
Maddy Ard
Vocals

Maddy's voice adds depth, range, and the kind of harmonies that make people stop their conversation mid-sentence to listen. The band's secret weapon, and not so secret anymore. Eat your heart out, Robert Plant.

Tom Mahoney
Tom "T-Bone" Mahoney
Bass

Tom is the foundation — the low-end that keeps the whole thing locked and moving. He doesn't need a lot of words. The bass does the talking.

Dylan Thoma
Dylan Thoma
Drums

Dylan keeps the band honest and on time — both musically and logistically. He's the one who decides whether something sounds ready, and he's usually right.

Tim Roland
Tim Roland
Guitar

Tim handles the guitar work with enough range to cover clean country leads one song and full-drive rock the next. Reliable, tasteful, and the kind of player who makes everyone around him sound better.
